I\u2019m Pia, and animals are pretty much my entire personality at this point. It all started when I welcomed Charlie into my life. But then I had to move and couldn\u2019t take him with me (heartbreaking, I know). So, my partner and I thought, <em>why not become a foster home for dogs?<\/em> And boom \u2014 chaos began.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We were already big animal lovers \u2014 we had two cats together: Leyla and Maex. A couple of weeks after moving in, I somehow ended up in the shelter\u2019s cat room (don\u2019t ask how, it just happened). That\u2019s where I found a cat with severe anxiety who wasn\u2019t up for adoption. Long story short\u2014her name is now Yuna, and she is my baby. But even with a cat army forming, I still felt like something was missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One day, while scrolling through classified ads (like any normal person looking at puppies for no reason), I saw a post: <em>\u201cFoster home needed.\u201d<\/em> One week later, Mali moved in\u2026 and, well, never left. Foster fail on the first try. The next dog, Samy, was an instant adoption from Spain \u2014 we skipped the whole \u201cfostering\u201d step that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But I still wasn\u2019t done. I needed to do more. So, I opened my laptop and searched: <em>\u201cFoster homes for cats.\u201d<\/em> And that\u2019s how I truly fell down the rescue rabbit hole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, I volunteer at <strong>Hunderettung Europa e.V.<\/strong> as team lead of the TikTok team, and I\u2019m still fostering cats \u2014 so far, with no more accidental adoptions (yet). \ud83d\ude05<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/myrescuediary.stx.gg\/?page_id=76\">meet my fosters<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to my very own animal rescue diary! \ud83d\udc3e Hey there!
